Falmouth

Falmouth is the point where the Virus enters Cornwall in the book via a dog walker of Castle Beach. 

A major fortress in the English Civil War, Pendennis Castle looks down over both the town and English Channel beaches. During that conflict, the futures Charles II escapes to the continent via this castle, the commander of whom held out for also three months after the end of the war.

On Charles' restoration he issued the first town charter, the small settlement of Arwenack becoming Falmouth
